Palmetto State Saver ran into an issue that I have also run into on more than one occasion. When she received her total for the shopping trip, she immediately knew that something was amiss and went to customer service to get it fixed. She provides a valuable tip for anyone that is using coupons to save money:

Work out all of the scenarios in your head before you go. This way you’ll know ahead of time what the total should be (or at least pretty close!). I knew that I should not be paying that much after coupons! Publix has wonderful customer service and they were more than willing to adjust my purchase price when I figured out what the errors were!

The following food was purchased:

5 Boxes of Kashi Heart to Heart Cereal
1 Box Kashi Granola Bars
20 Jars Beech-Nut Baby Food
4 Pouches Starkist Tuna
2 Muir Glen Tomato Paste
2 Thai Kitchen Noodle Dinners

All these items will be added to the Penny Experiment food purchased master list. With all the purchases combined, couponers have purchased $5598.82 worth of food for $392.84 leaving $994,401.18 to go to reach the Penny Experiment goal of $1 million worth of food to food banks…
