Penny Experiment has another new couponer that has decided to participate. I’m so excited about the growing list of couponers because Penny Experiment is going to need a large number of them if it is to eventually meet its goal. It’s also great because the deal available each week vary from region to region, so the more couponers participating, the better chance that food will go to food banks on a weekly basis.
The newest addition is Jessica who writes the blog That Coupon Girl (be sure to check out the many deals that she has listed on her blog). On her first run for Penny Experiment, she purchased $36.10 worth of food for $4.59, for a savings of 87%:
The shopping trip included the following purchases:
(1) Post Raisin Bran Cereal
(2) Starkist Tuna Packages
(2) Kotex Liners
4) Cookie Mixes
(3) Uncle Bens Rice
(1) Hormel Compleats Meal
(2) Right Guard Deodorant
These purchases will be added to the Penny Experiment food purchased master list. Couponers have purchased $1394.28 worth of food for $164.22. This tiny step means that there is now $998,605.72 left to go to reach our goal of $1 million worth of food for food banks…
