$1000 Worth of Del Monte Fruit Smoothies
Del Monte fruit smoothies were on sale this past week at Safeway for $1.00 each and there was a $1.00 off coupon available from the 8/15 Red Plum Sunday newspaper insert making these free. I had 20 of these coupons available and ended up getting $59.80 worth of fruit smoothies for $0.00:

New Penny Experiment Button
We have been making a lot of changes to the blog over the last week. As you can see, we have a new theme, a new header and a new blog button that you can place on your blog if you have one:
We have also made some other changes including allowing anyone that wants to donate to their local food bank to add their donation to Penny Experiment even if they do not have a blog (along with a running list of all those donations). I will be going into a more detailed explanation about this change in the next couple of days. I would love to hear your thoughts on the new look.

$715 Worth of Food for Free
A couple of days ago I ended up buying 120 packages of Nature Valley Nut Clusters along with 1 bag of tortilla chips, 6 large cucumbers, 5 packages of Wacky Mac veggie spiral pasta, 8 bananas, 4 kiwis, 1 mango, 1 flower of garlic, 1 can of refried beans and 10 loaves of bread worth $507.88 for free:

I recently took the Kraft cheese (along with a lot of other stuff I had collected from my eating well on $1 a day challenge) to the Milpitas Food Pantry:

If you shop at Safeway this week (7/21 – 7/27), be sure to go to the dairy section to see if the Kraft shredded cheese has $1.00 off 1 coupons. If they do, pick up some free cheese for yourself and your local food bank. These coupons are in some stores, but not all. This is how the deal works.
Kraft shredded cheese (2 cups) is currently marked at $1.99 each or $9.95 for 5 packages. There currently is a Catalina coupon deal (these are the coupons that you get from the register after you pay) that is worth $5.00 toward anything on your next purchase:
So $9.95 – $5.00 = $4.95
In addition, in some stores there are Kraft shredded cheese packages that have $1.00 off 1 peelie coupons stuck on them:
