New Couponer: Saving My Sanity, One Coupon At A Time

It is always wonderful to welcome a new coupon blogger that has decided to participate in Penny Experiment because that means one more local food bank that is going to get some needed food. DJ, who writes the blog Saving My Sanity, One Coupon At A Time, (make sure to check out her blog where she explains how she has purchased over $700 worth of food for $145) emailed me to let me know that she had made a number of runs for Penny Experiment. Trip #5: $47.18 worth of food for $12.71 which included the following food:

After these purchases, it was a time to take a trip to the local food bank to deliver all the food. It ended up being 65 pounds of food which went to Helping Hands:

When added all up, Saving My Sanity, One Coupon At A Time ended up purchasing $248.39 worth of food for $38.19 — an 85% savings. All the items purchased will be added to the ever growing master list of all the food purchased for Penny Experiment. Couponers have now managed to purchase $1358.18 worth of food for $159.63. This is yet another small step to the overall goal of $1 million worth of food for food banks and leaves us $998,641.82 left to go…
